I went for a little walk today with my camera in Frontier Park after paying my 2011 Personal Property Tax to the county and state. Why I have to continue to pay an annual tax for something just because I own it is beyond me, but if I don't pay it I am unable to license my vehicles (hey, isn't that just another tax?)

So, back to the walk...

Apparently the City of Saint Charles installed a Veterans Memorial right on the banks of the Missouri River a couple years back. It's been a while since I have been down there and this was something new to me. On top of a large granite pentagon with each miliaty branch insignia sits a bronze eagle with it's wings spread. This was not the photo I had in my head as I approached the memorial from 100 yards away and started thinking about the shot, then when I got right up on it I saw what I wanted to shoot, and you see it below.
