Kerry's Wreck

Imagine this, you are sitting on your brand new GTP and someone comes along and decides to take a closer look.
Kerry's thoughts on the matter follow:
Today I found out one of the downsides of owning a new car...again. Summer '97
with only 10,000 miles on my new GT, I got rear eneded and it really hurt my
feelings. Fast forward to today, with only 2,000 miles on my 99 GTP--Bad
things happened. I was always expecting that first major ding or a cracked
windshield, but I never though I'd get my car molested in an intersection.

Anyway, I probably sound like I am talking out of my butt right now, so I'll
spill it out and let you guys figure it all out. I was cruising down the road
in the left lane, and up ahead, there was a bus stopped in the right lane.
There was a 94 Nissan stopped behind the bus and all I saw was the trucks
front tires turn to my lane and jump as it tried to get into my lane. Too bad
I was already there.

I lost the front fender, the front door, the rear door, and lots of glass. The
shop did a quick estimate but didn't get into the door jambs because they were
affraid they couldn't shut the doors if they opened them. So anyway the tab is
at about $4,500 and it will go up once they see the damage they need to repair
in the jambs.

The worst part of the whole thing is the poor girl that hit me was really
young and didn't desrerve this kind of a problem. I'm just glad she wasn't
hurt--and I hope her dad feels the same way. The good news is her mom worked
at the building in front of the wreck, so she was there in no time at all to
help her feel a little better. Plus it happened in front of a fire station, so
we just walked across the street to get accident reports.

The funny thing is, when I was talking to her, I looked back at the
intersection, and some dude picked up my GTP emblem. LOOTERS! I ran down there
and snagged it back. I'll try to make more sense of this, and let you all know
what happens from here. As long as I don't get an Aspire (or in my brother's
words "Ass-fire"), I'll be fine for now.
